Who is Andrea Borden?
I am EXUBERANT! I love the outdoors, golden hour vistas, and great friends. My perfect day would be a daytrip to the redwoods and the beaches of Northern California with a huge cup of coffee and my sweetheart by my side. I try to live like I want to live: do what it takes to make a difference in your own life: don't dream it, live it! Every day is a gift, and it'll never happen again. I capture the uniqueness of each new day in my life.

Ellie (top) and Kodiak (bottom) at Another Chance Animal Welfare League Rescue. Beautiful and fluffy little ones, so fun ans sweet!
Griffin is an adorable little puppy dog who came from Tehama’s shelter, now at Another Chance Animal Welfare League. He is super adorable, very lovey and currently not impressed with his costume. He was hoping he could have been Batman instead. Thanks Chelsea and Erik for all your help getting Griffin to smile, but I guess we’ll have to go back with a cape so Griffin can have all his dreams come true!
If teacup kitty does not make you ‘aww’, I don’t know what will.
This is Jellybean from Another Chance Animal Welfare League Rescue.
A girlfriend and I went up to Mt Shasta in search of peace and beauty. We found both in abundance at Castle Lake.
I knew the shot I wanted in mind the day before we headed up, but once we found this tree half submerged in the lake, I knew I had to honor its beauty somehow.
Funny…. as we were driving back, Old Stage Road lead us through properties with meadows and tall pines with golden hour streaming in, and I said “I suddenly feel so burdened by the beauty I see”. Shayla laughed and said it was such a typical artist thing to say. I suppose that’s true.
I’ve always held a deep connection to nature. As a photographer I feel like I have to honor the amazing things I see on my journeys. Sometimes I feel like the need to honor the scenes I see is so great, it’s a burden to see so gorgeous a sight because I know I can never do it justice. That could sound like an odd mix of pretentiousness and weariness, but I have a feeling someone out there knows how I feel.
Back to the shot first listed:
I knew I wanted a different picture when I went up there. In fact, even after we found this tree I still feel the need to take the shot I had in mind in the beginning. Perhaps I will. I know I need to hike up to Heart Lake as well for another shot that won’t leave my headspace.
Shayla embodied ‘Lady of the Lake’ and ‘Lady of Shalot’ to me in our shooting yesterday. Anyone who admires the painter Waterhouse may be familiar with my inspiration.
It’s been a long time since a blog post, so please enjoy and soak in a little nature today right here on the blog. =)
Check out this awesome girl! Some of you may remember her glam portraits from my blog before, now here’s something a little more her style. She is an awesome musician and tumblr-er as well, here’s her music channel, she’s pretty incredible: http://www.youtube.com/user/mariahwester?feature=watch
And, on wednesday the Carousel Girls Night Out shots will be available for anyone who attended, you’ll get an invite in your inbox for the email you fabulous ladies provided. I had great fun meeting the gals who totally rocked the shots!
Here’s one of Eryka, posing for a test shot..
And of course, here’s the magnificent Brandon, our hair stylist for the night (and our hair stylist for all our vendor shoots, he is amazing!), goofing off for some test shots as well. They make an awesome team and are just plain fun to be around! They’re both such hams. =)
And of course, Eryka always looks so fabulous I had to put up just another killer shot of her:
FIERCE! You rock! =)
And this morning it RAINED!!!! YESSS!!!!
Happy Monday, everyone!
My wednesday post is fast and snappy and a share!
Here’s one I posted on FB yesterday, so all my tumblr followers can catch up with the fabulousness that IS Anne and Dillon’s day, and below is a fantastic looking groom’s crew (and I love that Dillon had a girl in his groomsmen crew!)
This is a new edit, and I sat down with Anne and her mom today to go over proofs, I am so happy they got a chance to see the bridal party photos like this one!:
I must have told them to look cool… or something (I’ll never tell!).
So many weddings in fall for Nor Cal, going to another one this weekend!
